Imagine if someone injected JavaScript script or even PHP script, he/she could write a "malicious" program, for example dropping your database (in fact it ever happened to me). I suggest you should use htmlspecialchars function in PHP (http://au.php.net/manual/en/function.htmlspecialchars.php) to convert HTML markup in user-input.
